Hand Painted Scarf with machine hem. Scarf is made of delicate painted, lustrous and sensuous satin silk , it drapes beautifully and is pleasant to the touch. It is painted with dyes and steam set so the fabric feels nice and soft to the touch. The designs are done free hand so it is hard to replicate. The dyes flow and interact with each other differently every time I make it and that is what makes it fun.
The inspiration for this scarf was Dahlia from the Botanical Garden at Fort Bragg strolling along with my mentor and sweet memories from childhood. My Mom has green thumb and at one time there used to be so many dahlias and chrysanthemums in our little garden. The cohesiveness of the petals in the dahlia flower while still maintaining the individuality appeals to me. The contrast of yellow gold with electric blue is striking and will add a touch of the dramatic flare to any outfit.
Each design and scarf is done with love and I hope you will enjoy wearing it as much as I
enjoyed watching it come alive or if it is a gift I hope it brings pleasure to the person you got the gift
for as well.
Size: 13.5/69.5 inches
Care instructions: Hand wash silk separately and delicately in cold water with mild detergent without bleach. Please do not leave it to soak in the water too long as it might cause shrinkage. Hang to dry. Iron from the inside when the silk is still slightly damp on low or silk
setting or dry clean it.
Disclaimer: The tiny imperfections which have become a part of the design are due to the silk being painted free hand and a part of the charm. And as the proverb goes : “A diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections.”
